Youth accused of trying to sodomize 11 year old boy

Police in the Belize district are looking for two youth after an alleged attempt at sodomizing an 11 year old boy. 

According to police, the eleven year old boy from Sunset Park village along the George Price Highway, accompanied by his mother went to the Hattieville police station to report that the indecent assault happened on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 9th.

The boy told police that while on his way to a shop in Sunset Park he met a young boy who invited him to a friend’s house which was nearby.

The 11 year old said he accepted the invitation and that when he got to the house, he was assaulted by both the first boy and the friend.  The eleven year old further reported that he was forced into a room and that the friend he went with abandoned him. 

The third youth reportedly attempted to sodomize the eleven year old but the boy managed to free himself and ran away from the house. He went home and reported the matter to his mother.

The police are now looking for the two youth as their investigation of the case of indecent assault continues.

    This is a critical case of rape, why does the media use the word sodomize versus rape. My contention is that words are discursive with power implications. Serious amendments to the constitution are necessary and for social investigation.
